Georgiana Toacsen will represent Romania at The Roger Hatchuel Academy in 2018, after winning the national contest organized by The Alternative School for Creative Thinking.
Each year, 35 representatives from all over the world, up to 23 years old, are attending the Roger Hatchuel Academy at Cannes Lions. For five days the students have access to an intensive training on branding, marketing and creativity hosted by industry personalities worldwide.
“How to generate ideas and how to fight for them”, “How to see an opportunity in every brief”, “How and where to find insight and inspiration” are just some of the directions explored by students with the help of their tutors. Academy students get full access to the Cannes Lions Festival, including the five Award Shows. They will also have exclusive access to the Jury rooms, which are closed to the regular Festival delegates.
Georgiana was born in France where she lived for 11 years. She graduated the French high school in Bucharest and continued with a degree, then a master at FABIZ.She cultivated French through her studies and jobs: HR Generalist in French at Accenture and then Customer Care Specialist at Schneider Electric. Although she could have returned to France, she believes Romania is a land of opportunities. and the right place to stand out and make a difference. Best Contact Center Agent won at the Romanian Contact Center Award is the latest distinction she received.

For over 14 years, The Alternative School is organizing the Roger Hatchuel competition in Romania. Along the years, 3 generations of Romanian students won gold at the contests of the academy. Ioana Halunga was one of the award winners. Today is is a UX consultant for elite brands from Switzerland, France, Singapore and Qatar. In 2018, she was a juror in the local competition, alongside Mara Cristina and Anca Ifrim, two other graduates of the program with remarkable careers.
Clive Challis is the Head of the Roger Hatchuel Academy. He is also the Head of the Advertising course at Central Saint Martins in London and the author of the definitive book on modern art direction “Helmut Krone. The Book. Graphic Design and Art Direction”.
