AdHugger, the online publication reporting news and events from the marcom, business, tech, ecom and start-up sectors, celebrates a decade of presence on the international market.
AdHugger.net started as an English title covering news on the Romanian market and making it available to interested parties abroad. In just a few years, it expanded and started covering developments and events happening internationally.
Over time, AdHugger has been the media partner of numerous international events dedicated to the marcom and business sectors, such as New York Festivals, Cresta Awards, Epica, GePec, Digital Marketing Forum, PR Forum, Romanian PR Award.
AdHugger was launched on May 13th 2010 by Cristina Blanaru, who switched from working in a news agency to running and writing for her own publication, at the same time as handling PR for a digital agency.
Cristina has 20 years of experience in marcom and media. Fundamentally a strategist, she moves seamlessly between corporate communication, PR, content creation and journalism. Over time, she has led several multidisciplinary teams, implementing work systems with excellent results and providing international and local organizations with strategic input.
She has recently founded Code Name and is currently involved on launching a start-up focusing on sustainability. Previously, she worked (independently or as part of an agency team) with a diverse roaster of clients such are PayPal, Akcenta, Viacom / Comedy Central, Unilever Food Solutions, Sarantis, Delta Hospital (rebranded Ponderas), IAB Romania, trafic.ro and also with small companies and start-ups from different sectors such as ITC, customer care industry, performing arts & photography.
