ROMANIAN TALENT GOES GLOBAL

The Alternative School, empowered by George, has good news:

FX to represent Romania at Young Lions Design & Miruna Cojocariu at Roger Hatchuel Academy / Cannes Lions

Vlada Untila & Patricia Cheveresan, aka FX Design, represent Romania at the Young Lions Design / Cannes Lions international competition, following an intense semester at The Alternative School, with specializations offered by award-winning experts and work on provocative briefs.

Forty young creatives, freelancers, designers and strategists from agencies & clients alike were enrolled in the current semester, focusing on Design. Twelve teams ended up on the shortlist after being evaluated by awarded professionals, both local and international.

“2022 was our best year: the largest number of international speakers, the most diverse structure of participants – the zoom allowed us to receive registrations from all creative capitals, not only from Bucharest. The difficult briefs – armed conflicts, scanning the future – received admirable answers, an indicator that 30 years old young creatives can look at Design as a powerful discipline in terms of real-life, large impact”, said Teodora Migdalovici, the school’s founder and Cannes Lions ambassador to Romania.

Vlada and Patricia have design studies at The West University, Timisoara and have worked on individual projects or local agencies.

“Design is for people and about people. The sooner you understand this, the more you manage to help with relevant solutions. You might have a cool, attractive design, but you probably won’t succeed without insight, “said Patricia.

“I learned from Malik Benamara that I can be bold, from Bob Liuzzo that motivation matters a lot, and I was convinced by Paolo Proserpio’s creation that Design can still surprise. Inspiration can be contagious “, commented Vlada on her study and competition experience.

Miruna Cojocariu to attend Roger Hatchuel Academy

In 2022, Miruna Cojocariu will be The Alternative School representative at the Roger Hatchuel Academy in Cannes, dedicated to juniors up to 23 years old.

“I loved most of the applications. I saw and all of them inspired me to ignore them and not do the same. The truth here was that I had nothing in common with them so after I got over the anxiety of that information, I used my own truth”, said Miruna about the process of finding her own voice.

Her 2 minutes of animated film, sharing in an honest tone the story of her creative journey, entirely relevant to many of her generation, won the foreign jurors’ hearts.

Before joining The Alternative School classes, Miruna initially studied architecture and eventually opted for a career in communication, at the Journalism Faculty, in Bucharest.

Young creatives under 23 years old, willing to compete for a spot at the next Roger Hatchuel Academy, can still submit their application before July 30.

The Young Lions competition at The Alternative School is supported annually by BCR and George, the first intelligent banking.
